Top Gun Air Combat from Mforma and MoGame is a pretty decent top-down dogfighting game--good for several hours of sky-high action. After choosing your fighter pilot--either Maverick or Ice Man from the movie--you are sent on a mission to protect your base. The gameplay is solid as formations of enemy planes swoop in and try to shoot you down. There are several different sizes and shapes of enemy planes, and they fire and fly in different patterns, sometimes all at once. Your plane has two weapons you can use to shoot down bandits: a machine gun with unlimited ammo and a finite number of missiles. The machine gun does adequate damage and can protect you against all but the biggest planes. The missiles are launched in packs of three and do significant damage to virtually everything that is on the screen.
