Syberia: The World Before is an adventure puzzle game reminiscent of classic adventure games of the ’90s, developed by Koalabs and Microids. Play as two protagonists from different time periods Dana Rose a 17-year-old girl from Vaghen 1937, she has a promising piano playing career ahead of her, but shadows begin to loom over her future as the specter of fascism begins to rear its ugly head over Europe. Kate Walker is a prisoner in a forced labor camp in the Taiga’s 2003, till a tragedy drags her into an uncertain future in search of her identity.

Syberia: The World Before is a wonderful return to form for Benoît Sokal’s venerable series. Beautiful, engaging, and moving, it’s the strongest chapter in Kate Walker’s journey yet.

Visually wondrous and full of logical, fair puzzles and likable characters, this is a worthy entry in the series, despite a jarring conclusion and some rather poor performance.
