SteamWorld Dig is a platform action–adventure game created by Swedish independent developer Image & Form. Take the role of Rusty, a lone mining steambot, as he arrives at an old mining town in great need. Dig your way through the old earth, gaining riches while uncovering the ancient threat that lurks below… The main goal of the game is that you dig further and further in the mine with a variety of tools. Along the way, you will collect minerals that have to be taken back to town, to convert to cash, which you then use to purchase upgrades that will make you dig faster and/or make you stronger. In addition to your health you also have water and light. Water is used to power up some of your tools which can be refilled by finding water pools or killing enemies. Light is used to see which blocks contain minerals. Once your light goes out it becomes much harder to dig effectively although not impossible. The farther you go into the mine the harder enemies become in addition to a variety of traps you have to watch out for.
