Sid Meier’s Pirates! was named after its creator, a famous Canadian – American programmer and video games producer, Sid Meier, and was developed and published by MicroProse. It is a single player open world RPG set in the clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. Cruise your ship as a buccaneer in search for gold and lots of hidden treasures, ravage clueless villages, battle tenacious foes, steal valuable booties, find out about many undiscovered exotic island destinations, meet dangerous characters and unveil mysteries along the way. As your skills and reputation grow, so does your crew and ability to raid larger ports and ships and find ancient treasures. Sid Meier’s Pirates! is a full game purely for the ‘Pirate’ genre, not some half-baked wannabe. If you are annoyed with a certain fleet of ships, pick a fight with them. Not happy because a port merchant ripped you off during trading goods? Bombard the port and take it over. Governor doesn’t want to let you see his daughter? Control the port and change the governor. Raging because a country sunk your ship? No problem there, wipe their country off the map by conquering all their ports. So much open-world gameplay in one game! Even if this game is more than 10 years old, it’s still undoubtedly the best pirate game ever!
