Fight your way through swarms of crazed monsters, either alone or with companions to escape a chaotic alien world. Combine items in peculiar ways and master each character to be the disaster you dreaded after your initial crash landing.  

• Survive the alien world: There are over a dozen painstakingly constructed areas to explore, each filled with formidable bosses and difficult enemies that you will fight to prevent you from surviving and escaping.
• Acquire powerful items: Each run is kept interesting and challenging by more than 110 items. The more items you accumulate, the more powerful and unpredictable they are.
• You’ll also learn more about the lore and strategies from the logs as you come across lots of items.
• Unlock new ways to play: Unlock eleven playable survivors, each of whom has a distinct fighting style and talents. Toggle gameplay modifications like friendly fire, random survivor spawning, item choices, and more by learning the artifacts’ secrets. No run is ever the same because of the randomly generated levels, monsters, and items.
• Play solo or co-op: Take on the journey by yourself, or online with up to three people, or competing in the Prismatic Trials’ recurring challenge. Alongside established survivors like the Engineer, Huntress, and, of course, the Commando, there are also brand-new survivors called the Captain and MUL-T.

Reviews

With hardly any flaws or shortcomings, Risk of Rain 2 more than delivers. Its pulse-pounding, off-the-wall, challenging action, combined with countless secrets and unlockables, are sure to entertain and excite you. Play in short bursts or an hour until you scream, “AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!” — you’re bound to enjoy every minute of it.

PC Invasion  

We have finally lived through the full release of Risk of Rain 2. With the full release comes a new character, who is excellent, and a true final level, final boss, and an ending. On top of that, we get even more excellent music from Chris Christodoulou. It cements Risk of Rain 2 as one of the best roguelikes of all time, and certainly one of the best co-op roguelikes too. There are a couple of things I was hoping to see with the full release, like more skills for the other survivors, but I’m sure they’ll arrive somewhere down the line. As it stands, if you’ve not played Risk of Rain 2, you’re doing yourself a disservice.
