Melty Blood Type Lumina is a 2D fighting game based on the popular romance visual novel Tsukihime, developed by Japanese studio French Bread and in close collaboration with Type-Moon. Type Lumina itself is a remake of the original Melty Blood game released for PCs in 2002. Aside from the graphical updates Type Lumina also has rebuilt Melty Blood’s battle system from the ground up making it easier for new players to perform combos while also preserving the game’s original spirit, so long-time fans can still enjoy the game they know and love.  

• While Type-Lumina is a remake of the original Melty Blood its story and timeline varies differently from the first game instead of taking place in the route of Satsuki Yumizuka and Kagetsu Tohya, Type Lumina takes place ten days before Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon-.
• At launch, there will be 14 characters that are going to be available immediately namely: Shiki Tohno, Arcueid Brunestud, Akiha Tohno, Ciel, Hisui, Kohaku, Kouma Kishima, Hisui & Kohaku, Miyako Arima, Noel, Michael Roa Valdamjong, Vlov Arkhangel, Red Arcueid, and Saber. After launch, there will be four planned Character DLC’s bringing the total to 18.
• Melty Blood Type Lumina will feature Rollback Netcode for online battles. But will not feature cross-play across different console systems.
• As mentioned before Type Lumina will have easier combat mechanics for the benefit of newer players, additionally there will also be a new mechanic called “moon Systems” a consumable power bar that allows players to perform special attacks if consumed partially or if consumed fully Moon Drive’s that deal massive damage.

Those with a taste for speedy fighters will be right at home with Melty Blood: Type Lumina. The series’ in-depth mechanics are alive and well in this reboot, making this arguably the best entry yet.
