Hearts of Iron IV No Step Back is the fourth major expansion for Hearts of Iron IV focused on revamping the politics and military of one of the last major powers of WW2 that have yet received a major rework since its launch, the USSR. Improving the authenticity of one of the hardest fought fronts in World War II, the eastern front, more specifically it adds greater detail to the many eastern European nations that were part or in close relations to the Soviet Union, making it so that it more closely reflects the soviet politics and policy at the era.

• New Focus Tree’s: the USSR revamped focus tree is one of the largest ones in the game, making it almost impossible to research all of them, forcing players to make choices based on their circumstances, there are alternate history paths as well. New Polish National Focus Tree and shared Baltic Nations National Focus Tree’s for Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, as well as shared alternate history paths for all of them.
• Highlight the different strengths of your military by adding general bonuses to specific unit types, or even helping with the design of your divisions, make different tanks by prioritizing modules that increase speed, gun power, or even lesser production costs.
• Build your own general staff draw talents and expertise of officers from all over the Soviet Union, take advantage of the changing times, technology, and tactics.
• Specialize in grand and powerful artillery units, uniquely designed to deal with highly entrenched foes and fortified positions.
