Gamedec is a single-player story-focused isometric RPG with the primary focus on conversation and investigation instead of combat, developed by Anshar Studios. It’s the 22nd century a precarious time when the boundaries between reality and the virtual world are becoming almost indistinguishable, step into the shoes of a game detective otherwise known as a “Gamedec” a person who solves crimes inside virtual worlds. Use your wits to gather information, interview witnesses and suspects, get to the bottom of several mysterious crimes, and explore the ever-evolving relationships of virtual worlds and their inhabitants. The game will continually adapt to the choices you make so choose wisely.  

• The Primary gameplay loop is interacting with NPCs to gather Intel, once you know something then you can access different dialogue options once you get back to that NPC, how you gather this information can be different depending on the type of profession and knowledge you have.
• In the course of your career, you will be visiting all kinds of virtual worlds built like farming simulator games, cyberpunk-noir, fetishistic worlds, and many more dark and twisted realms.
• Use the games Codex and your deductive reasoning to discover facts and evidence that was once hidden, as a Gamedec you have great leeway on how to use your authority will you administer the law by your own ethics? Or be unbending on the letter of the law.
• For each of the choices you make in the game you continuously shape your Gamedec’s, character traits, it can either be positive or negative this will also determine how other characters will perceive and interact with you.

The detective work is paced and executed in a way that makes you feel like you’re actually solving crimes, rather than following scripted conversations. Overall, Gamedec is an excellent attempt to do the impossible. Tabletop games are as popular as they are today because they can’t be replicated anywhere else, but Gamedec comes as close as possible to making it a reality. I felt like my choices truly mattered, and that’s not something that happens often in games.
