Eastward is set in the near future where everything is in collapse due to a toxic presence. The human population is dwindling, and those who are able to escape, are trying to survive in underground villages.  

But for a miner and a mysterious girl, living under the earth is not a life that they would want to live, so they set off on a journey across the outside world.
