Devil May Cry 4 is an action-adventure hack and slash video game developed and published by Capcom. The game was produced by Hiroyuki Kobayashi a Japanese video game and anime television supervisor and producer, and directed by Hideaki Itsuno, the same director for Devil May Cry 2, 3, and 4. Devil May Cry 4 is similar to the previous games where the player must fight through different levels in order to move forward to the next mission. Some of the missions can be accomplished by solving brain stretching puzzles and gathering unique items. There are some changes made in Devil May Cry 4 which made it unique to the previous series. One of them is the presence of the two main characters, Dante and Nero. The game is about Nero, a teenage protagonist who possesses demonic powers and was sent on a mission to stop the series’ main character, Dante, after he has assassinated some demons from the The Order of the Sword along with its leader. In the duration of the game, the player gets to control both Dante and Nero to fight enemy characters in up-close combat using high powered firearms, high quality swords and other special weapons with different abilities.
