Contrast is a puzzle-based platform style adventure video game developed by Compulsion Games and published by Focus Home Interactive. CONTRAST is a puzzle/platform game where you can move between a fantastic 3D world and a mysterious shadowy universe in 2D to solve puzzles. You will sometimes manipulate different light sources in the 3D world to create the shadow paths that reach into new areas. It is quite a dreamy and surreal noir environment partnered with smooth and sultry jazz ambiance. This game is not very long and feature quite a unique but simple story that makes you feel so attached to the two protagonists. Didi and Dawn are two girls in the shadowland. This game gives out quite a dark and gloomy atmosphere because of the world you are in, nobody can see you, and you can only see their silhouette, which gets you attached in the story itself. Contrast brings a rather unique, at least for its time, concept of manipulating shadows as a platforming mechanic. This game is a piece of art, and art doesn’t have to be lengthy, exciting and action packed. Art is what makes you feel something while playing it.
